Achievements

The members as well as the society chapters of IEEE-TSEC have achieved enormous success since the inception of IEEE-TSEC; in both technical as well as non-technical fields. IEEE-TSEC has inspired not only inspired its members to explore new avenues of knowledge but also awarded them for their exceptional contributions to IEEE-TSEC, such as through the Richard E. Merwin Award.



Some of the achievements of IEEE-TSEC and its members are:

  • Sagar Nagda(Chief Technical Officer IEEE-TSEC 2007) won "UPSILON PI EPSILON" international award for academic excellence of IEEE computer Society. Till date he is the only Mumbaikar to get it. He is only the 5th Indian to get it. This award was started in 1994.
  • The IEEE-TSEC website won 1st prize in the Student Chapter Website Contest from Region 10(Asia-Pacific) and was also a Runner-Up worldwide in 2007.
  • 11 students got an Honourable Mention award by IEEE Computer Society in the CHC61 contest of 2007.
  • Sagar Nagda, (CTO IEEE-TSEC 2007) wins first place for web designing in ABHIYANTRIKI technical festival of KJSCOE.
  • Amit Jain, Treasurer IEEE-TSEC wins Richard E. Merwin Award for year 2007.
  • The Computer Society Chapter of IEEE-TSEC won the Best Student Chapter Award for the year 2006.
  • Won 2nd Place at the IEEE fest of Shah and Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College for Robotics Level 3- hedge maze held on 17th and 18th March, 2007.
  • Our winning robotics team: Rohit Nair, Ajay Nair, Akshay Pinto, Virag Parekh.
  • 2nd Place awarded to our Editor, Sudeep Singh, at the IEEE fest of Shah and Anchor College, Chembur for Technical Paper Presentation on CDMA, held on 18th March, 2007.
  • Best Branch Counsellor Award to our respected Principal, Mr. Kranti Kumar.
  • Largest IEEE Student Branch in the world in the year 1998.
  • Winner of IEEE Computer Society Best International Students Chapter Award for 1999, 2002 and 2003.
  • The IEEE Computer Society Richard E. Merwin Distinguished Service Award to Deepti Chheda in 2003, to Mohit Thatte in 2005 and to Sushil Chandiramani & Poulomi Doshi in 2006.
  • The IEEE-TSEC website was adjudged 2nd prize in Region 10(Asia-Pacific) and Best Student Chapter website in Asia for the year 2002.
  • The website also won the Runner-Up prize worldwide in 2003; Region 10 Second prize and Runner-Up worldwide in 2005.
