The field of interest of EMBS is the application of the concepts and methods of physical and engineering sciences in biology and medicine. IEEE-EMBS TSEC is the only active biomedical society in Mumbai. IEEE-EMBS TSEC is the proud winner of the Outstanding Performance Award (OPA) in the year 2007. We at EMBS believe in interconnecting the application of engineering principles with conjectures from biological and medical sciences.
EVENTS AND FESTIVALS:
EMBS conducts two major annual inter-collegiate festivals - PULSE and CEREBRATION. PULSE serves as a healthcare hub, bringing together participants from various fields such as biomedical engineering, medicine and biotechnology. CEREBRATION, a Technical Paper Contest is also an inter-collegiate festival and is conducted for students from all branches, allowing them to showcase their caliber in Technical writing and Presentation skills. EMBS also organizes visits to hospitals, medical centers, research centers and other technical institutions helping its members get a feel of what to anticipate in their future careers in the industry.
PUBLICATIONS:
EMBS has a quarterly newsletter BIO BYTES which aims at bringing fascinating news from all around the globe and helps students keep abreast with the latest career developments and technological innovations. . This newsletter also serves as a forum for displaying articles written by our members. Our website is accessible to everyone and provides information about the activities conducted around the year.

The EMBS Chapter at IEEE-TSEC is the only society for students of Biomedical & Biotechnology.
